Captain Hero Prologue Scene 5

"What the hell is that?" Kathleen barely had time to unfold her arms and shout.

"Listen, Kate, there's no reason to act like this. Despite my interest, you've never actually let me-"

His diatribe was cut off prematurely when the dirty bomb hit the cafe. Apparently, Sebastian's attitude had driven one of his many interns to extreme when their position was terminated.

The baristas died first, as their young, eighteen and nineteen year old brains didn't have enough built up neural structures to withstand the transformation. A few other patrons died, including a teenage boy on the toilet and others who were just there to get a latte.

When the smoke cleared and the CDC declared the scene free of contaminants, only eight people survived the blast. The attacker died along with ten other innocent bystanders.

Sebastian was the first to wake up, nearly a week later. His brain itched and he had a sudden urge to buy new clothes.
